A mouth-watering tropical scenery is found within the region of the Central plateau and the thousands of surrounding hills, as well as the depressions in the Eastern and North-Eastern part of Burundi. Burundi has many places of interest: from the Capital Bujumbura, to the beautiful landscapes of Lake Tanganika, Ruvubu and Kibira Forest and the Source of the Nile at Rutovu. These places boast of antelopes, hares, buffalos, cynocephalus and tropical and wild crocodile.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival
On your arrival at Bujumbura, meet and greet with our driver then transfer to your hotel.
If time permits, take a half day tours in Bujumbura city visiting the Snake & Culture Museum; the Islam Culture Centre; City Hall and Lake Tanganyika. O/N: Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel (BB).

Day 2: Either
Visit Kibira Forest National Park, for a guided nature walk in this park of few animals species. Time permitting, visit the Explorers Memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Livingston Stanley in 1871.

OR where kibira is inaccessible visit;

Rusiizi National Park Burundi
You will have a morning breakfast after which you will drive north of Bujumbura to Rusizi National Park. Here you can possibly see hippos relaxing in the waters, antelope and several bird species native of the wetland environment. You will drive back to Bujumbura for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Departure.

Transfer to the airport during time of your flight out. (HB)
