Park Fees, Vehicle Hire Fees, Other Information for Tours to Uganda, Rwanda, Congo and Burundi - Italian and Other Tourist Groups doing Tours to Africa | Lake Victoria Tours

These fees include Uganda, found in East Africa, boardered on the west by Congo, on the north by the Sudan, on the east by Kenya, and on the south by Tanzania and Rwanda. Here, you track gorillas, chimpanzees, do wildlife safaris, bird watching, eco-tourism and cultural tours. Fees also include what you would pay in the parks of Rwanda a peaceful, prosperous and inviting country. Visit Nyungwe Forest Park known for its large size and a vast army of chimps and monkeys; Akagera National park for game, including zebra, giraffe, antelope, buffalo; and Parc Nationale des Volcans where Dian Fossey  dedicated her life researching the celebrated gorillas.

Congo is a land of wonder and amazement. At 2,267,600 sq. km Congo DRC is the second largest country on the African continent after Sudan. We mainly take travelers to do only two tourist activities in the relatively peaceful regions: track the mountain gorillas at Djomba Congo (via Uganda or Rwanda); or visit the Nyiragongo live volcano (via Rwanda) and visit communities.

Burundi occupies a high plateau divided by several deep valleys - a new era of tourism here allows visitors to enjoy visits to the Source of the Nile Burundi, Lake Tanganyika, Kibira National Park among others.......

BOOKING INFORMATION FOR GROUPS VISITING UGANDA, RWANDA AND CONGO

Ciao.

Gorilla tracking procedures in Congo:

The cost of a gorilla permit to Congo is US$500. This includes the permit, escort and transport in Congo but does not include the visa fees at $50 per person; and another $50 to return to Uganda (if one did not purchase a multiple entry visa to Uganda from your countries of origin). Once payment is received from you, permits are paid for in advance, and the permit tickets are collected at our Liaison Office in Kisoro a day before tracking

On the tracking day, trackers assemble at a Kisoro hotel (usually Virunga hotel) by 6.00Am and are then transported to Congo for the tracking. Visas should have been obtained a day earlier. A Congolese-specially-licensed vehicle takes the tourists, and brings them back to the boarder also after tracking.

GENERAL BOOKING INFORMATION FOR GROUPS VISITING UGANDA, RWANDA AND CONGO

Here below are the prices that have changed, this with effect from January 2009:

We can take our groups to travel in Uganda and Rwanda or Congo, including gorilla tracking. But as some of you have read Rwanda is a very expensive country. It is 2xx more expensive than Kenya, and 1.5x more expensive than Uganda.

Please find here below our booking terms for the year 2009.

1. All fees payable to us (rafting, gorilla, chimp permits, transport) can be paid for in euros or Pound Sterling. Other fees you will pay directly in the parks have to be paid for in dollars or in local money.

2. The amount of money to pay for the vehicle per person depends on the number of people in the car. The more the number of people in car, the cheaper it is per person. Our safari vehicles take between 4-8 people depending on which car you have booked. The Coaches normally take a maximum of 15+1 people with their luggage; that is, if the jump-seats are not used.

3. Please find below all the details you need;

4. Daily charges for transport
- EURO 120 per day for the Coach transport in Uganda (it seats 12-18 people with their luggage)

- EURO 90 per day for the luggage van in Uganda if required by any group.
- EURO 90 per day for a smaller car that takes 7-9 people with limited luggage, inUganda.

The vehicle and driver are usually used between morning and 6.00pm. Vehicle and driver should not be used beyond 21.00pm of any day.

5. For clients who enter Entebbe and fly out from Kigali, note that there is a charge for an empty leg for car returning to Kampala (Uganda) which is 600km from Kigali. The charge for this empty leg is Euro 260 for coach and fuel. From Burundi the charge is Euro 350 or its equivalent in USD for coach and fuel.

7. Chimpanzee Tracking. We would now recommend tracking in Budongo Forest (found in Murchison Falls) at $50/person. We cannot guarantee tracking of permits in Kibale Forest. Each day Budongo takes up to 24 people to track chimps. And Chimp tracking in Budongo has the following schedule:

  1. 07.30AM: Maximum 6 persons allowed,
  2. 08.30AM: Maximum 6 persons allowed,
  3. 2.30PM: Maximum 6 persons allowed,
  4. 3.30PM: Maximum 6 persons allowed,

These permits will need to be booked and paid for in advance.

8. The Uganda Wildlife Authority now does not accept bookings without payment for chimpanzees. I would therefore suggest to you to make deposit payments, for each group well in advance. We will then purchase the chimp permits immediately. This will be urgent for each group. Failure to send the money in advance means that there is no guarantee of tracking the chimps for last-minute bookings. But as in the past we will do our best to ensure we get everybody to track chimps.

9. It is recommended that booking for chimpanzee and gorilla tracking should be done at least 6 months in advance. Booking is done with payment at time of booking. Where the rangers refuse or if it is not possible for any particular group to track chimps, clients will get the full refund.
